The international technology, available today, makes it possible to solve a series of problems caused by the very human necessity of better life conditions. The modern industrialist and the government authorities have dedicated special attention to control the sources of pollution through the suitable treatment of the solid, liquid and gaseous wastes.

The investments necessary to the anti-pollution works and equipment require technical studies for its suitable selection. The economic and functional aspects of the systems to be introduced are fundamental to the economy of each industry and of the Country.

Nevertheless, the problems of pollution are not solved only with the construction of the works and acquisition of equipment. It is a necessary technical follow-up of the works and specially of the operation and maintenance of these systems of treatment so that the results attained satisfy the legal needs established by the State. The Laws 6938 and 6902 regulated by the Decree 88351 of 06/01/83 have established the National Police of the Environment, in the areas of Environment Protection and the creation of Ecological Stations, marking the beginning of the new stage in the field of preservation of our natural resources.

Within this philosophy, "EPA - Engenharia de Proteção Ambiental Ltda.", was organized in 1976. Our organization seeks to provide to our clients a high level job in the solution of their environmental problems.

 

Company History

In 1976, just out the State Agency of Pollution Control, CETESB, our president, Eng. Camal A.S. Rameh, with a group of professionals in the area, organized EPA - Engenharia de Proteção Ambiental.

At first, the company acted in the area of elaboration of projects for the State Water/Sewage Organization - SABESP - later on expanding to industrial activities in relation to treatment of liquid effluents.

Up to the 80s, we had the opportunity to participate in large projects, which included government agencies and private industries. Among these projects we can stress the System of Treatment of the liquid effluents of RIPASA, Pulp and Paper Company, Fermenta S.A. (Bayer Group), Cisper and others.

Nowaday we cover all the environmental area including air pollution, soil and groundwater contamination by residues with emphasis on detection, investigation and remediation.

Since 1997, Grupo EPA provides services for international groups like URS Corp, a worldwide engineering company with 15000 employees and 100 offices around the world and recently to TAUW, European group part of the CAT alliance. Along this period several projects were conducted with extreme success, providing international standards for our clients and local knowledge to multinational companies.
